Nominations open for 2017 Tourism Awards

With special events like the summer Poker Run and international chess tournaments, coupled with a record-setting season for cruise ship traffic, 2017 has been a solid year for the local tourism sector.

To honour the people and groups responsible for this success, Tourism Sault Ste. Marie is calling for nominations for its 15th annual awards.

Nomination forms for the 2017 Tourism Sault Ste. Marie Awards are available online here. The deadline to nominate an individual or organization is Wednesday, Oct. 11. This year’s awards are:

• Tourism Award of Excellence
• Business of the Year Award
• Customer Service Award
• Tourism Ambassador Award
• Hospitality Management Award

“The 2017 awards is our ‘crystal’ anniversary, celebrating 15 years of honouring the people and businesses that have made significant contributions to the growth of our community’s tourism sector,” said Ian McMillan, Executive Director of Tourism Sault Ste. Marie. “These awards are an opportunity to recognize those who have dedicated their time, passion and commitment to the tourism and hospitality sector.”
