No injuries in Bruce Mines house fire (2 photos)

The Red Cross dispatched disaster management volunteers

No one was injured in a house fire that occurred near Bruce Mines Saturday afternoon says Constable Bev Gauthier, of East Algoma OPP.

At 2:39 p.m. on Saturday April 22, OPP officers received a call to assist firefighters by managing traffic near the Highway 17 located farmhouse.

Gauthier said there is nothing suspicious about the incident at this time.

The Red Cross in Sault Ste. Marie dispatched two local disaster management volunteers to the home and provided clothing, food, and blankets to the family.

Disaster management coordinator Jenni McDonald said the family was able to find alternative accommodations without their help.

The Town of Bruce Mines did not give any information regarding its response.
