New triple chairlift coming soon to Searchmont Resort

Searchmont Resort will have a new triple chairlift on the main hill once the ski season starts this year.

The resort shared the news in a notice posted to its website, indicating that the main triple lift should be operational in time for night skiing over the Christmas holidays.

Introducing Searchmont Resort's new main triple chairlift! We have been eagerly waiting to share an update regarding the main and now that we finally have some good news to share it is time for a long overdue update. So here it is...the main is almost ready for the 2022-2023 season! We have a couple things to finish up before that happens and to be completely transparent with everyone we will share our next steps and an expected timeline.

The mechanical of the lift is being completed this week. The development and shipping of parts has taken longer than expected (these were originally expected back in March) but we now have all the necessary parts to get the main operational. The bullwheel and housing unit are already good to go.

Next up is the cable splice, which is scheduled for next week. Following that is passing the acceptance test, which we are hoping to have done before Christmas (ideally early December).

If all of this goes well, we will have a new and improved main, with a brand new drive station running during the Christmas break (yes, with night skiing!) and the rest of the season.

Our plan is to open up very soon with Buzzsaw (and hopefully Goulais) and to then open up the rest of the hill with the main and quad shortly after.
