Algoma Public Health is reporting another positive test for COVID-19 in the Sault.

The new case is number 404 since the pandemic began and was transmitted by close contact with another individual who tested positive for COVID-19.

"Close contact means the person acquired their infection through close contact with a known confirmed case.  For example, living together with a case, or spending more than 15 minutes with a case while less than 2 metres apart, are considered high risk close contact exposures," says the health unit.

The person who tested positive for COVID-19 is self-isolating.

This brings the total number of active positive cases in Algoma to four.

The health unit has notified all close contacts of this individual.
