StartUP Sault Ste. Marie is proud to announce the winner of their recent 30 Days to Startup Challenge is Shelly Cere of Cameron Road Hanger, a new arts and craft business featuring sandblasted glass and acrylics.

The business launched after taking part in StartUP Sault’s Starting Your Own Side Hustle seminar in October 2019. The seminar teaches attendees how to launch their own side business based on their skills/talents, hobbies/interests or experience. Attendees learned how to evaluate their business ideas, develop a one-page business plan, and the additional steps necessary to take their idea to reality in under a month.

Following the seminar, attendees were invited to join a friendly business startup challenge, submitting proof of completion of various tasks necessary to start their side business. Each of the six steps was worth 10 points.

While several attendees participated, Cameron Road Hanger accumulated the most points, including actually launching the business within 30 days. You can find their business on Facebook and here

“StartUP Sault is thrilled to announce their first challenge winner," said Nevin Buconjic, founder and president of StartUP Sault. “I was so excited to learn that I had won the 30-day challenge," stated Shelly Cere, owner of Cameron Road Hanger. “StartUP Sault’s seminar showed me the exact steps to start my business, and the challenge motivated me to get them done in under a month.
