Howard Hampton will be the first party leader to hit Sault Ste. Marie during the current provincial election.

At 7 p.m. tonight the NDP leader will officially open Tony Martin's campaign office at 16 Queen Street East.

This afternoon Hampton is in Wawa.

"I have spent most of the past few days knocking on people's doors, listening to their concerns, and asking for their support," Martin said this morning.

"For voters in this election the choice is very clear: are we going to have another four years of privatizing essential services like hydro and health care, cuts to education and other crucial government services and tax cuts that benefit only the friends of Ernie Eves and Mike Harris? Or do voters want a government that keeps essential services in public hands, and keeps health care and hydro affordable."
