Names released in fatal snowmobile collision

On February 20, 2016 Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police were dispatched to a head-on motorized snow vehicle collision on the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs “D” Trail north of Searchmont

WLSAY TOWNSHIP - At approximately 4:15 p.m. on February 20, 2016 Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a head-on motorized snow vehicle collision on the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) “D” Trail north of Searchmont.

The drivers have been identified as Thomas KAZEMIER, 45 years of age from Middleville, Michigan and Lance McCONNELL, 59 years of age of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

Both succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

A post mortem is scheduled for February 22, 2016. The investigation remains ongoing.
