Highway 17 near Short Street in Spanish is now open to traffic.

An early morning collision has Highway 17 near Short Street in Spanish closed to traffic in both directions.

Travellers are advised to seek an alternate route around what OPP indicate is a serious multi-vehicle collision.

Readers report traffic is backed up all the way from Spanish to Serpent River as a result of the closure.
