A bail hearing will take place Monday for a Sault Ste. Marie man charged with second-degree murder in connection with a Feb. 10 fatal shooting on Morin Street.

Joshua McCabe, 30, appeared in the Superior Court of Justice Wednesday morning where the judge indicated a day has been set aside for the hearing.

Justice Edward Gareau told him it will be the only matter on the docket so it can be heard and completed.

Christopher Swanson, 23, died after being shot during an altercation in the 400 block of Morin Street.

On March 8, city police announced the arrest of two men in connection with a home invasion linked to the fatal shooting.

The pair, armed with weapons, are alleged to have attended the residence of a person known to them in the early morning hours of Feb. 10, forced their way inside and assaulted a male.

The two men fled and police were contacted a short time later.

Police arrested Dallas Solomon, 23, on Feb. 20 and Branden Hartling, 26, on March 5.

They face charges of break and enter with the intent to commit robbery, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, wearing a disguise with intent and breach of probation.
