Police have linked the incident to the fatal shooting of Christopher Swanson during an altercation at a Morin Street residence.
Ontario Court Justice Romuald Kwolek imposed an interim ban on Dec. 14 - the first day of the trial - after hearing arguments from the prosecution and defence.
He delayed his decision for a week so additional news outlets could be notified of the Crown's request for an order to prohibit reporting the evidence.
When the Crown initially filed its application it served notice of its intention to seek the ban to Sootoday and The Sault Star.
On Friday, Kwolek said the ban will remain in place until the conclusion of the proceedings and that he will review the order after he makes his judgment.
The order prohibits publishing any evidence, information given or representations made.
Dallas Solomon, 24, and Branden Hartling, 27, have pleaded not guilty to five counts in connection with the Feb. 10 incident.
They are each charged with break and enter to commit an indictable offence, assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon (a large machete), being masked while committing an indictable offence and breach of probation.
After the pair was arrested, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service confirmed in March that the charges were linked to Swanson's death.
The 23-year-old man died after he was shot in the early morning hours at a home in tne 400 block of Morin Street.
Joshua McCabe, 30, is charged with second-degree murder.
