More warm weather records washed away (video)

Loyal reader Rod Rioux has sent us this video showing the Goulais River on Sunday. Meanwhile, Environment Canada reports that new record-high temperatures were set yesterday in many locations.

Meanwhile, Environment Canada reports that new record-high temperatures were set yesterday in many locations.
 
Highs at this time of year in Northern Ontario are usually around the freezing level.
 
With the warm spell expected to continue for a while yet, look for more new standards to be set.
 
Here are some of the record highs recorded on Monday:
 
• Sault Ste. Marie: 21.3, surpassing 11.1 (1976)
 
• Wawa: 20.0, surpassing 10.3 (2003)
 
• Chapleau: 23.9, surpassing 9.5 (1980)
 
• Sudbury: 20.3, surpassing 8.3 (1970)

• North Bay: 22.8, surpassing 11.7 (1946)

• Timmins: 23.6, surpassing 12.2 (1970,1979)

• Thunder Bay: 17.4, surpassing 12.2 (1946)

• Kenora: 23.8, surpassing 11.3 (2000)
