Special weather statement ended for Sault Ste. Marie - St. Joseph Island

Local poor visibility in snow bands.

A persistent westerly flow off Lake Superior has produced bands of snow that are affecting the eastern shore.

Visibilities have at times been reduced to less than a kilometre in the heavier bands of snow.

These conditions are expected to persist through the night then improve Monday morning.

Local amounts of 5 cm will be possible by Monday morning.

Motorists should exercise caution when driving due to sudden drops in visibility due to local bursts of snow.

Please monitor the latest forecasts and warnings from Environment Canada at www.weatheroffice.gc.ca.
