******************** No charges in the Heyden truck-train collision

Heyden, Ont. - With the investigation into the truck-train collision earlier this week in Heyden complete, a decision has been made not to lay any charges against the operator of pickup truck.

A review of statements taken from several witnesses to the crash along with further investigative indicators revealed that several environmental factors contributed to this collision.

This investigation is complete.

******************** More snow machine charges

Goulais River, Ont. - Members of the OPP Traffic and Marine Unit once again teamed up with other law enforcement agencies for further snow machine patrols.

Officers were out with Conservation Officers from the MNR as well as STOP officers.

They checked 61 snow machines yesterday.

Officers laid three charges under the Motorized Snow Vehicle Act.

Two charges under the Fish and Game Act were also laid and seven people were afforded warnings for other violations.

******************** Echo Bay break and enter

Echo Bay, Ont. - Sault Ste Marie OPP are investigating a break and enter into an apartment in Echo Bay.

The occupant of the apartment arrived home yesterday afternoon to discover the door to the apartment kicked in.

So far the victim is unable to determine if anything is missing. ********************
