There's some big news in here for Lindsay Pugh as well

Thomas Walls School of Music announced Monday that it too will be affected by the arrival of Canadian musical instrument/lessons giant Long & McQuade.

Music school owner, Tom Walls, will be retiring with Lindsay Pugh heading up the Long & McQuade Music School.

Northland Music announced earlier Monday that it would be transitioning into a Long & McQuade location between now and September, when a new store is expected to be ready.

The following is a statement issued by Thomas Walls:

Since 1960, Thomas walls school of music has been servicing Sault Ste. Marie with its quality instruments and music supplies as well as providing excellent music lessons for children and adults. The owner, Tom, has always worked hard to provide outstanding customer service to anyone coming to the store. It has been his friendly face and cheerful personality that has helped make this company so successful.

As you may have heard, the well known largest music chain in Canada “Long and McQuade” is going to be opening a huge new store in Sault Ste. Marie soon. Long and McQuade has an extensive variety of musical instrument brands and supplies to suit your needs.

We are very excited to share that Long and McQuade has chosen Thomas Walls School of Music as well as Northland Music to be part of the transition into a new building they are planning to have ready by the end of the year. This change allows Tom to move onto the next exciting chapter of his life, as he plans to retire from Thomas Walls School of Music. The Long and McQuade Music School will be headed by our very own talented and well known local musician Lindsay Pugh.

What does that mean for the store and for our students? We will still be operating out of our current building throughout the summer while renovations take place at a new location. Students that have signed up for the summer or coming year will still be able to take lessons from their current teachers, as they will be joining the team.

We are very excited to announce this change and we look forward to continuing to teach all of our students at the new location. We have always valued our customers and we sincerely hope that you share in our excitement!

We will keep you all informed as developments occur.
