More civic election candidates - nominations end Friday

If you're thinking of running for City Council or a public or separate school board, it's time to fish or cut bait.

The deadline for filing your nomination papers is 5 p.m. this Friday.

The filing fee for every office except mayor is $100.

It'll set you back $200 to be nominated for mayor.

Yesterday, the first candidates for area French-language boards were nominated: Louise Primeau of Chemin Dauphin filed papers for Le Conseil Scolaire De District Catholique Du  Nouvel Ontario and Fernand Houle from Elliot Lake filed for Le Conseil Scolaire De District Du Grand Nord De L'Ontario.
