MILL MARKET

*************************
Mill Market, Entomica and The Canal District Community Garden are working together to create the Northern Community Pollinator Project, an educational and interactive garden at Mill Market, supported by WWF Canada Go Wild Community Grant and Telus Mobility.

The importance of pollinators has become increasingly recognized, as have the alarming declines observed in some species.

Butterflies, flies, moths, beetles and, most importantly bees, pollinate native plants and crops. Over two hundred of Canada’s native terrestrial animal species are now considered at risk, and the number is growing every year.

This interactive pollinator garden hopes to bring together the community, focusing on increasing awareness and education of indigenous pollinator plant species here in Algoma.

The Northern Community Pollinator Project will launch in August and hopes to educate and inspire the Algoma District to plant their own perennial pollinator patches.  We can work together to make Sault Ste. Marie the pollinator haven for the North!

Mill Market seeks to provide locally grown and harvested food, educate the public about cooking, nutrition, and agriculture, and offer entertainment and special events to create a festive atmosphere in the marginalized community of the Canal District of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

Entomica, an exhibit where visitors can discover the fascinating, hidden and often misunderstood world of insects through live interactive displays.

The Canal District Community Garden is a place where people with a passion for community, gardening and delicious food come together to cultivate and harvest in a safe, inclusive and friendly environment.
