******************** Brown welcomes announcement of increased land ambulance funding in Algoma-Manitoulin

Algoma-Manitoulin to receive $275,451

Mike Brown, MPP for Algoma-Manitoulin welcomed the announcement today by the Government of Ontario of increased funding of land ambulance services in Algoma-Manitoulin.

"I am very pleased to see the Government of Ontario recognize the unique needs of Algoma-Manitoulin communities by providing additional funding for this integral component of health care," said Brown. "Municipalities in Algoma-Manitoulin expressed their need for additional funding for land ambulance services and this announcement recognizes that need and will provide for better care for Algoma-Manitoulin patients."

Under this announcement, $146,636 will go to the Algoma District Social Services Administration Board and $128,815 will go to the Manitoulin-Sudbury District Social Services Administration Board to provide additional land ambulance services to patients of Algoma-Manitoulin.

The funding is part of $12 million being provided by the Government of Ontario for improved land ambulance services across the province.
