AFL-CIO ANNOUNCEMENT

************************ The Eastern Upper Peninsula Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO, will host a "Meet the Candidates 2004" forum Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at the Christopher Columbus Hall, 201 Sheriday, Sault Ste Marie.

Candidates for the First Congressional District U. S. Representative, 107th district state representative and county positions in Chippewa County are invited.

"Meet the Candidates 2004" will be open to the general public.

Incumbents will speak first, followed by challengers. Candidates may use their allotted time in whatever way they wish.

The forum will not be a debate, but each candidate will be given time to follow up after their initial presentation

The candidates for U. S. Representative will start the forum, followed by candidates for state representative, and then finally by county candidates.

The time allotted to each candidate will depend on the number of candidates who commit to the forum.

U. S. Representative Bart Stupak is slated to appear. Other candidates planning to participate will need to notify EUPCLC Recording Secretary, Paul Warrick.
