- Jeremy Paquin, 28 years, from Sault Ste. Marie - Ian Dunlop, 26 years, from Sault Ste. Marie - Isabel Sigouin, 27 years, from Montreal - Neil Baker, 37 years, from Mississauga

Team Sault Ste Marie is comprised of four seasoned athletes with a long list of adventure racing experience.

Team captain Jeremy Paquin hails from Sault Ste Marie and is competing in his third season.

Ian Dunlop, also from Sault Ste. Marie, is an accomplished mountain bike racer and outdoor enthusiast.

Rounding out the team are Neil Baker, an adventure racer with extensive experience from Mississauga, Ontario, and Isabel Sigouin, with an impressive adventure racing resume is from Montreal, Quebec.

Not only does Team Sault Ste. Marie have over 25 races to their credit, they have a strong diversity in their abilities and a competitive heart that should see them through to the finish.

Paquin and Baker recently placed 11th at the Raid the North Parry Sound 36-hour adventure race in which only 16 of 41 teams managed to cross the finish line.

And Sigouin proved that she is one to watch for with a strong third-place finish at the Duo Challenge in Quebec.

The team hopes that they have a marginal advantage over other teams given the fact that Dunlop and Paquin have extensive knowledge of the Northern Ontario landscape and have had the opportunity to examine and train in the terrain race course designer Rich Marshall will put them through.

In addition, Sigouin traveled to Sault Ste. Marie during the Easter weekend and enjoyed a two-hour train ride and 30-kilometre snowshoe trek from Achigan Lake to Stokely Creek with teammates Dunlop and Paquin.

In the past, Baker has been to the area to hike along the coastal trail in Lake Superior Provincial Park.
