McMeeken Centre still closed as TSSA investigates carbon monoxide incident

The arena was evacuated Tuesday night and people with flu-like symptoms were urged to go to hospital after high carbon monoxide readings

CITY OF SAULT STE MARIE

The W.J. McMeeken Centre on Goulais Avenue remains closed after being evacuated yesterday evening due to apparent high levels of carbon monoxide.

Sault Fire Services, other city staff, Union Gas, the HVAC operator and representatives of the Technical Standards and Safety Authority are currently investigating.

Further information will be provided as it becomes available.
