Saturday marked eighth edition of the Sault Ste. Marie Festival of Beer at Bushplane Museum

The Sault’s Marty Turco, former Dallas Stars goaltender, was in attendance at Saturday’s eighth edition of the Sault Ste. Marie Festival of Beer as part owner of Kingsville Brewery, one of several breweries on hand for the event, held at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre in partnership with Loplops Gallery-Lounge.

Kingsville Brewery, along with Muskoka Brewery and Old Tomorrow, were newcomers to the annual event, joining northern Ontario breweries Northern Superior Brewing (Sault Ste. Marie), Stack (Sudbury), Sleeping Giant (Thunder Bay) and New Ontario (North Bay), along with Lake of the Woods (Kenora), Fullbeard (Timmins), Manitoulin (Manitoulin Island) and Whisky Jacks (Haileybury).

Beer tasting went on for ticket-buying members of the public from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., with live entertainment by The Gasoline Gypsies of Port Huron scheduled to follow from 7 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
