Marilyn Monroe: 1959-2017

SooToday received the following notice regarding the death of Marylin Monroe.

Passed away unexpectedly at Sault Area Hospital on Sept. 16, 2017 at the age of 58. Daughter of Violet Monroe, (Walter) and the late Barry Archibald. Lovingly remembered by her only child, Alex Martin, her brothers and sisters: Barry (Diana), Cathy (Jim), John (Donna) and Candy (Andrew). Auntie to many nieces and nephews. Marilyn was an extremely kind and empathetic woman. Her huge heart and smile radiated throughout the community with everyone she encountered.  She will be missed by many. The family would like to thank Sault Area Hospital emergency staff and Emergency Services who responded with the utmost generosity and compassion.

Friends and family are invited to visit at O’Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre (corner of Cathcart and St. James St., Sault Ste. Marie) on Saturday, Sept. 23rd from 2:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Cremation has taken place at River’s Edge Crematorium. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada or The Sault Area Hospital Foundation.
