Man receives multiple charges after assault

NEWS RELEASE CITY POLICE ************************* A 29-year-old male was arrested as a result of a domestic violence call. It is alleged that the accused assaulted the female victim on December 31 by punching her in the face.

A 29-year-old male was arrested as a result of a domestic violence call.

It is alleged that the accused assaulted the female victim on December 31 by punching her in the face.

It is further alleged that on the 11th of January the accused damaged the victim’s cell phone.

It is also alleged that on January 12 the accused threatened to kill the victim, assaulted her by choking and punching her, and punched and kicked holes in the walls of her apartment.

There were no injuries requiring medical attention.

At the time of these offences the accused was on probation with a condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused will be appearing in bail court charged with two counts of assault, two counts of mischief, one count of threatening and three counts of breach of probation.
