****************** Manitoulin OPP search for missing male

(Little Current, Ont.) – On Wednesday evening at 9:30 p.m. on February 1, Manitoulin OPP were notified by Durham Regional Police that they were searching for a 48-year-old male who went missing in the Durham area and is believed to be heading to the Manitoulin area.

Manitoulin OPP were asked to keep observation for a Grey 1992 Chevrolet pickup truck, which was being operated by the male.

At 3:15 a.m. on Thursday February 2 while OPP Officers were on patrol of Little Current, they observed a grey pickup truck parked at the entrance to the Manitoulin Tourist Information Booth near the swing bridge.

Upon closer checks it was the same vehicle reported missing by Durham Regional Police.

The truck was empty and no sign of the driver.

Officers then started to conduct a search of the area.

Members of the OPP Emergency Response Team, Underwater Search & Recovery Unit, and the OPP helicopter have been called in to assist.
