Man injured in Wellington Street house fire (6 photos)

Burns not considered life-threatening

It took Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services about one hour to wrestle a house fire at 369 Wellington Street into submission Saturday evening.

They were called around 7:30 p.m. to respond to what was initially described as a living room fire.

Smoke could be seen coming from the windows when fire trucks first arrived at the scene.

One man was taken to hospital and treated for burns to his hands.

City police found no evidence of wrongdoing and are no longer involved with the case.
