NEWS RELEASE

CITY OF SAULT STE MARIE

*************************
The City of Sault Ste. Marie Emergency Management Division is seeking feedback from residents in regard to their level of disaster preparedness.

Are you and your family prepared for an emergency such as a power outage, severe winter storm or flood? Do you have enough non-perishable food items, water and supplies to cope until help arrives, potentially 72 hours later?

Unfortunately, fewer than half of Canadians live in a household with an emergency supply kit and only one third of Canadians have discussed a designated family meeting place in the event of a disaster.

This initiative seeks to better understand our community’s resilience by looking at how Saultites prepare for disasters.

Complete our quick survey by Feb. 15, 2017 for a chance to win a 72-hour emergency kit, valued at $100.
