Dear SooToday;

Feel free to post this letter on the SooToday website to encourage people to get behind my idea.

When you drive through St. John's Newfoundland, you can't help but drive down Team Gushue Way.

Team Gushue was honored by the city of St. John's for their curling accomplishments.

To date, Team Gushue has won an Olympic gold medal in Men's curling under the guidance of Russ Howard, and have been perennial Brier representatives and playoff contenders for the Canadian Championship.

These are great accomplishments by Team Gushue and they are well deserved, yet stand pale in comparison to what Team Jacobs has done in the past few years.

Our city council needs to find a way to permanently honor this team with a similar action.

I don't know if any new major streets are in the works for development in the Sault, but something has to be done.

Perhaps because the physical conditioning that the team has shown to the world is front and center,renaming the newly built recreational center on Goulais Avenue "Team Jacobs Recreational Center" would be a fitting tribute.

I am sure that Algoma University might also consider naming a building, roadway, or even a parking lot after the team; since three team members either attended or are currently attending the facility.

Don't drop the ball (or in this case, the rock) on this one.  Do the right thing, and make a permanent tribute to our Olympic and Canadian Champions.

Sincerely;

Bill Nash, Proud Canadian
