Long & McQuade will continue to sell musical instruments and offer music lessons out of the former homes of Northland Music and Thomas Walls School of Music until the musical instrument chain opens its doors in the east end in the new year.

Lesson coordinator and store manager Lindsay Pugh tells SooToday that Long & McQuade will open up shop at the former home of Northshore Sports & Auto, situated at 647 MacDonald Avenue, as soon as this spring.

Northland Music and Thomas Walls School of Music will be vacated by Long & McQuade once the MacDonald Avenue location is operational.

Long & McQuade will be open at the former Northland Music (312 Queen Street East) seven days a week until Christmas Eve, and will resume business Dec. 27 with a boxing week sale.

Here are the holiday hours for Long & McQuade's Northland Music location:

Monday-Friday: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Saturday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Sunday: 12-5 p.m.
