Local restaurant steps up to help ARCH with car, bike show (14 photos)

Third annual local eatery event raises funds for Sault hospice

To go along with burgers, fries, root beer and live entertainment, local car and bike lovers enjoyed viewing a collection of well maintained vintage and modern vehicles at the 3rd Annual A&W ARCH Car/Bike Show at the restaurant chain’s 659 Great Northern Rd. location Sunday afternoon.

Admission for the public was free, but vehicle owners paid a registration fee to display their cars and bikes at the restaurant’s parking lot, with those fees, along with donations from customers at both local A&W locations, going to the local hospice, said Margaret Turcotte, A&W restaurant manager, speaking to SooToday.

“This past week we’ve been ‘rounding up,’ so for example, if you’re order comes to $11.63, we’re asking you to round up to $12 for ARCH. We’ve been doing that and hoping to raise some good money for ARCH. Customer donations have been going very well at both stores. We’ve been doing that since Aug. 24, and we’re very close to beating last year’s collection of $2,800 and hoping to raise at least $3,000 this year,” Turcotte said.
