The Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board (HSCDSB) is pleased to announce that Vice-Principal Wayne Greco was recently named Principal of the Year by the Catholic Principals’ Council of Ontario (CPCO).

Greco received the honour at the CPCO Annual General Meeting in late April.

A dedicated teacher and administrator for the past twenty-five years, Greco currently serves as Vice-Principal at St. Theresa Catholic School in Sault Ste. Marie and as the Vice-President for CPCO Huron-Superior.

“We congratulate Wayne on receiving this honour.  He is an integral member of the Board’s education team and is held in high regard by everyone he works with,” said HSCDSB Director of Education, John Stadnyk.

Greco was nominated for his work with the Huron-Superior CPCO executive and his tireless efforts to enhance the learning experience at St. Theresa.

Along with serving the students in his charge, Greco is also a board member of the YMCA, Best for Kids of Sault Ste. Marie, Sault Ste. Marie Public Library and Federation of Public Libraries.

He also is a Rotary Club volunteer.

“It is humbling to be recognized by my peers for work that has been and continues to give rich meaning to my life.  As I continue on my journey with the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board, I am committed to being of service to my colleagues and most importantly to my students,” said Greco.

Greco was recently elected CPCO Treasurer and will serve in that position next year.
