Local jewellery store robbed at gunpoint

CITY POLICE NEWS RELEASE ************************* On October 31st at approximately 5:30 p.m., Sault Ste. Marie Police were notified of a robbery at Hess Jewellers in the Churchill Plaza. Two males dressed in Halloween costumes entered the store.

On October 31st at approximately 5:30 p.m., Sault Ste. Marie Police were notified of a robbery at Hess Jewellers in the Churchill Plaza. 

Two males dressed in Halloween costumes entered the store. 

Both males were believed to be in their late teens to mid 20’s and 5’6” to 5’8” tall. 

One male was wearing a white gown and a black mask with mesh over the face and was carrying a sawed off shotgun. 

The second male was wearing a costume similar to Spider Man but with a red and blue cloak and carrying a bag. 

One of the employees of the store was assaulted and was taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. 

The robbers left without getting anything from the store. 

The investigation is ongoing.
