NEWS RELEASE

UNION JACK BREWING COMPANY

Local brewery Union Jack Brewing Company recently launched the latest in its product development, beer in cans.

After only six months in business the local company was able to identify their most popular styles and begin the process of branding them.

These brands include Rapid River Cream ale, 1870 Amber Ale, Algoma Pale ale, and Lock City common.

“The cans are a big developmental step for us,” said Union Jack’s president Jordan Jack. “We can now proceed with getting our product into the LCBO, Beer store and local grocery stores”

“Craft beer fans could always buy a growler of our tasty suds at the brewery on Queen Street. The additional outlets to purchase the beer will offer our customers more stores closer to their homes to buy our beer," Jack continued.

As for a timeline, the brewery will have their products listed with the LCBO by spring, meaning an early spring or hot summer could really ramp up sales for the company.

On another front, Union Jack Brewing Company is also working on getting a Michigan license to export its beer south of the border by fall 2016.

“Since most of our costs are in Canadian dollars the rapid fall of the Canadian dollar has given us quite the incentive to start exporting," said Jack. “We’re hoping this means hiring more staff to help meet the demand”.

2016 is shaping up to be a watershed year for the brewery. New products are expected as well as a local marketing campaign.

Cheers to the new year!
