WATCH: Black Lives Matter at Algoma University

Speakers address a rally at the university

A Sault Ste. Marie Black Lives Matter rally is currently underway outside Algoma University.

It is estimated at least 500 locals gathered at the John Rhodes Community Centre and proceeded in a motorcade to the Roberta Bondar Pavilion where they were joined by other supporters. 

The group then headed toward Algoma University to listen to the words of several keynote speakers.

The event began at the Rhodes at 5 p.m. 

It is expected the event at Algoma University will last until about 8 p.m.

Speakers are urging 'keep it peaceful'.
