A problematic house on Cathcart Street and one of Gore Street's finer buildings are facing possible sale by the City of Sault Ste. Marie for unpaid property taxes.

City Council agreed last week to register tax certificates on the titles of 20 properties on which a total of $169,346 in taxes are outstanding.

If the properties aren't redeemed by the owners, they may be sold as part of a city tax sale in the fall of 2022.
