Life threatening injuries suffered in Thursday's Hwy 17 collision

Five people were transported to hospital

Thursday’s three-vehicle collision at Highway 17 and Highway 17B involved five people, all of whom were taken to the hospital, said Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Constable Sonny Spina.

One victim suffered life-threatening injuries, said Spina Friday afternoon.

In a police press release yesterday, the incident was described as a "significant motor vehicle collision."

Highway 17 East was closed for several hours following the collision.
