It's coming back!

SooToday received the following letter from Margaret Jurcic, of the Lake Superior Chapter of the MS Society of Canada, who would like everyone to know that no, the MS Walk is not finished.

Earlier this week, SooToday reported that longtime organizer Sherri Duke is retiring after this year's walk.

With regard to the article written by Jeff Klassen, published on SooToday.com on May 2 After 19 years and $400,000, is the MS Walk finished?

We are pleased to let everyone in Sault Ste. Marie know that the MS Walk will continue to be one of the MS Society’s premier events again next year.

The MS Walk has been a spirited part of the community for nineteen years and it is with the commitment, support and generosity of the residents of Sault Ste. Marie that we are able to fund research and services for people living with MS in Sault Ste. Marie.

The Lake Superior District Chapter will continue to provide quality programs and services to people with MS.

We are looking forward to increasing our visibility in the community by providing educational sessions and hosting more and varied fundraising events.

There are many ways to be involved and we encourage everyone to help by volunteering their time in the Walk and all other events.

You can reach the Chapter office at 1-807-344-2944 or 1-800-268-7582, ext. 3346.

We are looking forward to the continued success of the MS Walk in partnership with members of the community in 2017.

Together, we can end MS.

Sincerely,

Margaret Jurcic,

Chair, Lake Superior District Chapter

Board of Directors

MS Society of Canada
