NEWS RELEASE

BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS

*************************
On Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016 Big Brothers Big Sisters will be holding the first annual “Rake-A-Thon.” In an effort to fund raise for the agency, staff, BBBS volunteers alongside community volunteers will be raking and bagging leaves for Sault Ste. Marie residents.

The agency is asking that participating households pay $3 per bag of leaves picked up.

This unique event is perfect for citizens who are unable to rake their own lawns, for those who have a busy schedule or for anyone who wants to donate to a local non-profit organization that provides the opportunity for youth mentorship.

Biodegradable leaf bags have been generously donated by Lowe’s and Lyon’s Timber Mart, allowing for 100 per cent of the proceeds raised to remain local and benefit participants of the diverse programs Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sault Ste. Marie offers our youth.

Spots are filling up fast so make sure to register your home today! Help make a BIG difference and sign up by calling the office at 705-945-7717 or email Jenna at [email protected]. The last day to register is Oct. 26, 2016.

As a not for profit organization serving youth in our community Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sault Ste. Marie is committed to the healthy development of children and youth through valuable mentoring programs vital in fostering their full potential.

The organization’s vision of a community with enriched and happy children where every child who needs a mentor has a mentor, is only possible through fund raising events and the support of community members.
