Leafs fan? You're gonna wanna read this

Retired NHLer Wendel Clark is set to head on tour to promote the release of his memoir Bleeding Blue: Giving My All For The Game.

Published by Simon and Schuster, Bleeding Blue will hit the book shelves on Tuesday, Nov. 1 as the former Maple Leaf kicks off his book tour in Toronto at the Eaton Centre Indigo book store.

Northern Ontario tour stops include those in Sudbury on Nov. 15 and Sault Ste. Marie on Nov. 16.

As one of the team’s most popular players, Clark played for the Toronto Maple Leafs for 13 of his 15 years in the NHL, captaining the franchise from 1991 to 1994.

Known for his rough playing style which earned him the nickname Captain Crunch, Wendel once left St. Louis' Bruce Bell unconscious on the ice after the defenseman was caught by Clark with his head down.

Despite his feisty nature, Clark could also hold his own offensively.

In his rookie year with the Leafs, he lead the franchise in both penalty minutes (227) and regular season goals (34), adding another six points in 10 playoff contests that same season.

North Bay - Monday, Nov. 14 - Walmart (1500 Fisher Street) 6 p.m.

Sudbury - Tuesday, Nov. 15 - Costco (1465 Kingsway) 6 p.m.

Sault Ste. Marie - Wednesday, Nov. 16 - Coles Cambrian Mall 11 a.m.

Only one item of memorabilia will be signed with book purchase.
