Land lines and 911 down in areas of St. Joseph Island

Land lines and 911 service for areas of the Island could be out for as much as two days.

Jocelyn Township office reports the area is currently experiencing a Bell Canada and 911 outage for land lines on the south end of Jocelyn Township and includes some of Hilton Township.

"Bell Canada has advised that it could possibly be two days to have the system repaired and up and operational again," says a spokesperson for the office. "The Township office is working with other agencies including OPP, EMO and the Fire Marshalls Office to expedite this matter."

"If you require emergency phone access please go to the Jocelyn Township Office (Fire Department) 3670 5th Side Road, and it will be manned."
