Recognizing 59 years as “The Voice Of Organized Labour” the Sault Ste Marie and District Labour Council, affiliates and stakeholders will mark Labour Day by inviting all union members and the public to a free workers appreciation family and friends event, at the Roberta Bondar Park Pavilion on Monday, Sept. 3, 2018.

This year’s themes are “Pharmacare for Everyone” and “Buy Canadian.”

A Labour Solidarity Rally will kick-off the day’s events at 11:30 a.m. Beginning from the Bondar Pavilion parking lot, east on Foster Drive continuing on Russ Ramsay Way, north on Brock, west on Queen, south on Elgin and back. Rally participants are invited to gather at 11:20 a.m.

To top this off, Labour will provide fun family activities beginning at noon with free food by the M&M’s BBQ crew. Come enjoy live music, face painting, cotton candy, and popcorn.

The Motorcycle Show and Shine event will once again be hosted by the local Iron Workers Motorcycle Club with People’s Choice awards and prizes for the top show bikes.

If you are or know a high school student who need community volunteer hours please contact Darrell Czop - Labour Day Chair [email protected]. Hope to see you there!
