**************************** Medal of Merit nominations now open

SAULT STE. MARIE - Do you know someone who should be recognized for an outstanding achievement or contribution to the community of Sault Ste. Marie?

The City of Sault Ste. Marie invites citizens to submit nominations for the 2011 Medal of Merit Award. 

Nominations will be accepted by the City Clerk until Thursday, December 1, 2011. 

The Medal of Merit is awarded annually to individuals or groups who have achieved provincial or national championship status in an athletic or other competitive endeavour, achieved a standard of excellence in a cultural or academic field, or who have made an outstanding contribution to the community. 

Nomination forms are available under 'forms and maps' on the City’s website at www.cityssm.on.ca or from the City Clerk’s office by contacting (705) 759-5388. 

Winners will be announced on Friday, December 30, 2011.
