OPP NEWS RELEASE

************************* Suspicious death in Kapuskasing now being investigated As a homicide

(Kapuskasing, Ontario) – The Ontario Provincial Police are continuing their investigation into the death of a 74-year-old man found deceased on Monday August 2, 2004, near the Town of Moonbeam.

Officers from Kapuskasing Detachment had responded to a call that a body had been discovered near the edge of the roadway on St. Joseph’s Road near the Town of Moonbeam around 5:15 p.m.

The officers found the man deceased.

The body of the man was transported to the Office of the Chief Coroner, Toronto where a postmortem examination to determine the cause of death was performed yesterday.

The cause of death is not being released at this time, however, investigators are now treating this investigation as a homicide.

The body has been identified as Real Doyon, 74, of Hearst.

The investigation is continuing by officers from the Northeast Region Crime Unit, Identification Unit and Kapuskasing detachment, under the direction of OPP Detective Inspector Bob Lemieux, Criminal Investigation Branch.
