Joshua charged with trafficking (update)

9 a.m. update

During the investigation in the arrest of Joshua Leclair, officers from the newly formed Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Joint JFO Drug Unit located 16.97 grams of cocaine, 16.15 grams of marijuana, material for packing drugs for distribution as well as digital scales. 

The estimated street value of the drugs is $1,924.

8 a.m. original release

On June 9 at approximately 12:25 p.m., officers from the Sault Ste. Marie Drug Unit arrested 25-year-old Joshua Leclair of Heidi Crescent in Aweres Township for 2 counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and 2 counts of breaching a probation order.

Mr. Leclair was arrested at the Satellite Motel, where he had been staying, when one of his conditions was to reside at his residence.

He was also found to be in possession of cocaine and marijuana.

He will be appearing in bail court this morning.
