FACT: The local call centres are butting heads over the hundreds of prospective employees they need to hire.

As SooToday.com and other media reported earlier today, RMH Teleservices International Inc. has confirmed it's landed its first major inbound technical support contract - a deal with Microsoft Networks that's expected to create about 180 new jobs.

Reached by SooToday.com in Nanaimo, B.C., Haggart said tonight that his hiring initiative will start with a big ad in tomorrow's Sault Star.

Meanwhile, both NuComm International and EDS have been courting prospective workers in recent weeks for expanded operations here in the Sault.

Big announcement next week from Sutherland Group

And SooToday.com has learned that a new player on the local scene, The Sutherland Group Ltd. of Rochester, New York, will ramp up its local hiring initiative as early as this weekend.

The Sutherland Group has been looking at Sault Ste. Marie as a possible location for a professional services operation involving hundreds of new jobs.

SooToday.com has learned that the company will make an announcement in the Sault sometime next week.
