Invasive Species Research Institute seeking volunteers

SAULT STE. MARIE - The Invasive Species Research Institute (ISRI) at Algoma University is currently working on a project to survey and map the prevalence of invasive terrestrial plants in Sault Ste. Marie and surrounding communities.

The knowledge gained will help protect natural ecosystems and local forest-based industries.

Volunteers are needed to conduct surveys and to assist with the development of invasive species management teams in the following communities: Sault Ste. Marie, Goulais River, Desbarats, Heyden, Bruce Mines, St. Joseph Island, Havilland, Echo Bay, and Thessalon

No experience is necessary - training will be provided for all volunteers.
