The following advisory is being distributed today to members of the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce:

*************************** The Sault Ste. Marie Police Fraud Unit has received a complaint of four suspected counterfeit Canadian ten dollar bills over the weekend.

All four notes were received from a local restaurant in the weekend bar deposit.

The notes are of poor quality, ink jet printing that runs when wet with no reflective leaf pattern on the front.

The paper quality is thin and the bills are cut irregular.

Serial numbers repeat - FEM1603679 and FEM1842229.

Businesses are urged to check all ten dollar bills for the defects listed above and contact police with any passer information.

Please call (705) 949-6300.
