Humane Society hosts successful dog walk at Pavilion (9 photos)

Several dozen participants took part in the charitable dog walk this Saturday, raising nearly $9,000 for the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society

Dog lovers from across the area gathered at the Roberta Bondar Pavilion today as part of the Humane Society’s annual charitable dog walk.

The forecast was slightly humid, but fortunately, the rain held off for the dog owners who came out to take their furry friends on the 2 km walk along the waterfront.

Participants raised over $8,600 for the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society through the venture, which will go directly towards caring for animals at the local shelter.

Prizes were awarded to several participants for their efforts, including the top fundraising team ‘Tail Waggers,’ who raised over $2,000.
