Hospitalizations remain the same, new COVID cases up by 48 in Algoma

Algoma Public Health is reporting 48 new COVID-19 cases in Algoma, though the number of hospitalizations remains unchanged from Thursday's update.

There are currently nine hospitalizations in Algoma with one other individual hospitalized that is a non-Algoma resident temporarily in the region.

The number of confirmed cases in the region stands at 2,884, up by 48 from Thursday and the number of active cases is 637.

The active case count is up 44 from Thursday.

APH is reporting a total of 221,104 COVID tests have been completed in the region since the start of the pandemic, a number that is up by 385 from Thursday's report.
