Home sales for March up $30M since last year: CREA

Real estate market still hot as stats show 240 units were sold last month

Homes sold in the Sault area during the month of March more than doubled from March 2020, the Sault Ste. Marie Real Estate board reports.

The board says March was the largest dollar value of homes sold for any month in history, with a dollar value of $61.9 million, doubling last March's numbers.

The number of new listings in March also saw a sharp increase of 79.4 per cent from February's new listings.

In March 2021:

  • 240 residential units were sold
  • $257,955 was the average price of homes sold
  • 278 new residential listings were posted

To compare, in March 2020:

  • 115 residential units were sold
  • $195,271 was the average price of homes sold
  • 57 new residential listings were posted

To compare, in February 2021:

  • 170 residential units were sold
  • $218,684 was the average price of homes sold
  • 205 new residential listings were posted

To compare, in February 2020:

  • 59 residential units were sold
  • $173,416 was the average price of homes sold
  • 105 new residential listings were posted
