Local vendors and Easter activities were at the Quattro Hotel and Conference Centre on Saturday.
Crime Stoppers of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District held their first annual Easter Activities for Kids and Vendor Event as a way to raise funds and awareness.
Easter activities included a scavenger hunt, story-time, cookie decorating, Anonymoose (a person in a Moose custom), and a colouring contest.
Infamous Sault-balloon couple Evelyn and Ken 'Balloon Man' Anstice also made an appearance.
Vendors varied from local food producers, to craft makers, toys sellers, those offering beauty products, and more.
Crime Stoppers is a "civilian, non-profit, charitable organization" that works with police and media to try and draw in public information about crimes via a tip-line and monetary rewards.
In March 2017, Crime Stoppers reports they received 157 new tips and 132 Follow up tips in Sault Ste. Marie and the surrounding area.
In that same period they say police made three arrests, solved three crimes, and laid six charges from information provided by the program, which handed out $1,875 in rewards.
